Outlook exchange shared calendar not updating
The longer the refresh rate, the less up-to-date your calendar will be.If you are making use of shared calendars in Outlook 2016 you may find that not all appointments are showing in the calendar or are disappearing.
Last updated: May 2, 2017 Currently, you can't use Outlook on Windows to edit calendars that are shared with your account, even if you've reconnected your account to Outlook. We're currently investigating how to enable instant syncing in these situations. When accepting a shared calendar, you might see an HTTP 500 error. If you see the error more than once, contact Support. The person who sent you the invitation will need to remove your permissions and then send a new invitation. If you've been granted permissions to edit a calendar, you won't be able to edit or add items immediately after accepting.Typically this happens when running Outlook 2016 in cached mode with exchange or Office 365.
The easiest way to verify this is the problem is to log in to your Outlook Web Mail, if you are using Office 365 you can log in at https://portal.using your username and password.
What if the Outlook (2010, 2013) user has checked the “download Shared folders” to cache all Shared folders locally ?
Are all calendars downloaded as the user opens Outlook ?
Or is the download in the OST of Shared Calendars done on access basis only?
1- If the user didn’t have cached mode enabled for Shared Folders, but already had 10 calendars configured on their profile, and then if later on we enable cached mode for Shared Folders, these 10 calendars will be “downloaded” onto the OST file when users access these only – not all at once.
Q: What’s the impact of a user having lots of Shared calendars opened or just configured in his Outlook profile ?
